OK, just for grins I thought I'd post a pic of my setup for melting WW, making ingots and casting. It's all done here.
Any comments or questions welcome.
I use: 30lb propane cylinder, turkey frier base, ladel from an old steel mill, bread pan to hold clips and dross, muffin tin to make ingots, and a pine stick to stir and semi-flux the mix before poring, piece of angle to hold the thermometer.
It's pretty fancy and expensive (not).

Good job Winchester. I don't know if the word "fancy" is used in casting. If it is, I wouldn't think the equip. would be fancy for long. Looks like you got what you need. I like your thermometer idea.

Thanks Charlie. I know "fancy" is probably stretching it a bit, but what the heck.
Thanks for your service.

I figure whatever works for you and is enjoyable is the right combination. I'm too old to not enjoy what I do

I have a similar set up for doing my alloys and making ingots. If you don't like what your doing, then find something else you do enjoy.

It's simple and setup/ teardown is pretty quick. The turkey frier melts lead faster than anything else I've used. About 10 mins.
Besides that, the lead I've spilled on the frier gives the turkey a great flavor:-)
