500 S&W Mag

I have ordered the 500 S&W Mag and am wondering what you experienced guys are using for molds and if you are gas checking these. I saw a one cavity RCBS mold 400 grain for a good price but not a gas check. I appreciate any input I can get on this. :-)

I make the Lyman PB and the Lee GC and heat treated them both for my brother.
I'd love to help you out, but he dont shoot near as much as me and aint really shot any yet.
I know there is a few guys here tho.

The Lee 440GC is a good mold to start with. I don't bother heat treating and have moved to the other end of the spectrum in that I get better accuracy with softer boolits. I cast with #2 alloy and use Felix for loob. Another of my favorites is the 375gr pointy (arcane) boolit. Doesn't look like much but is very accurate in my guns. The RCBS 400 PB is also a good mold, I had Erik HP one for me and it was AWESOME when it hit something soft and wet.
