I have recently acquired a round underhammer barrel that is 1.5 inches in diameter, with a removable brake that mates to the muzzle w/ four prongs. The length from brake to end of breach plug is approximately 32.5 inches. It is drilled and tapped for a scope w/ the hole being spaced @ 3/4 inches, 1 5/8 inches, 9 3/4 inches, and 10 5/16 on center (approx) as measured from the base of the barrel. The only markings on the barrel is the beautiful script K. R. Bresien and the number 400
I believe the bore is .40 cal.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

I will add pictures by the weekend.

Is it a brake or a false muzzle? many frontstuffers were and are fitted for false muzzles to aid in loading and keep the crown pristine.

pictures would verify and help for sure.

my bad, I would call it a false muzzle. the shear weight of the barrel is all the "break needed to keep the gun from rising as it is easily 20+ LBS

Barrel in question is on the bottom. By comparison, the barrel above it is a 28 inch 12ga barrel

It's a slug gun barrel and false muzzle for loading the slug. As to make or value- who knows? The market is very small, would depend on conditon/rifling/twist/cal, etc. and being able to contact someone interested in purchasing a used slug gun barrel.

GMR, sounds like you need to get togather with the thread below looking for a slug gun barrel maker. Between the two of you you have a gun by the same maker.

Thanks for the info...Im starting to think that it is a Ken Bresien barrel. From what little I have found on the net, he was a slug gun builder of some fame in the 80's.
