After looking at wellfedirishman's thread about converting a C&B revolver, I decided to post pictures of one I did in 2009. I started with a rough kit gun:

Cut off the barrel and modified the grip frame.....I couldn't get it annealed enough to bend and it broke. Took some 1/8" brass stock and soldered it to the frame after bending to shape.

This is how it turned out after making grips from some of my harvested walnut and rust bluing the frame:

This was my first attempt at rust bluing and it came out just OK, but it was a learning experience and I can always re-do it.

Cool! The bluing actually looks pretty good. I have been thinking about rust bluing some parts as an experiment. What mix/formula did you use?

How does it shoot?

You know....I haven't shot it yet!! I just used some Browning solution I had left from a couple of other guns, I think it was called Olde Time Brown. I applied 4 coats over a couple of days, carded it off and put the parts in a porcelain pan of boiling water for 5-10 minutes. That's all there is to it.

Say...don't I know you...from "some other" forum?
How did you manage to curve that backstrap so nicely?

Yeah....some "other forum"! As I said, I couldn't get the back strap annealed soft enough and it broke while I was attempting to bend it. I have some 1/8" brass stock and sawed a slice to width, then bent it in my vise to the shape I wanted, then screwed and soldered it in place. In retrospect, that was actually a lot easier than trying to get the heavier back strap bent to shape.
And thanks , all, for your comments.
