I went to the Smith and Wesson site last night and again this morning to see if I could get the date of manufacture on a couple revolvers.

I have been "Banned". Now having never visited the site before I ask myself how this can happen.

Anyone have any ideas............larry

I have seen sites ban whole email domains (mail.com, hotmail, etc.).

I have seen the ones you mentioned, not honored. I use AOL. I even tried my wife's and daughters e-mail addresses. All Banned................larry

Generally the free email domains that would allow you to get an account without providing any sort of proof of ID are the ones that are banned (Hotmail, mail.com). ISP domains are usually fine (Comcast, AOL, RCN, etc.).

OK, I never 'take advantage' of the free emails because they lock you in to the providor or cause a problem when you leave. I'll open one up if I think I'll need it. Thanks, Mick.

Really? I rarely use my ISP accounts on the web. I have half a dozen throw away free email accounts. They are perfect for signing on to news services and such (just for grins, I also like to give my address as 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC 20500). I'll log on to them every couple of months to keep them active. No need to even read the mail... since they are only used for site registrations, any mail on the account is SPAM.
