anyone know what that stuff is. Is it another aa2?

NOBEL (former produced by the french SNPE) Sp8 is a pistol powder ideally suited for 9mm with a burning rate between Herco and 3N37 (VihtaVuory). A good powder but very very sensible to charge variations. Start low and procede with SMALL increments.

It's not AA2. According to this document, it is specific to 9mm. Probably single purpose developed for 9mm military applications, and lacking in load development information for other cartridges. With work up, it sure looks like it would be suitable for medium speed pistol/shotgun powder applications.

Definitely compares to the HS6 loads I shoot with jacketed 9mm.

Burn rate chart I have has SP8 at same rate as Accurate #5, Alliant Power Pistol, Hodgdon HS 6, IMR SR 4756 and Vihtavouri N340.
Between Unique and PB (higher) and Herco, and Vihavuori 3N37(lower)
I found very few loads referencing SP8.

Lloyd, the link rbstern provided above mentions SP-8 and others as being either round grain or flattened grain double base spherical powder...Ray

................I just made the post as I figured it was a pretty good price considering Graf pays the freight. You do still have the $20 haz mat charge, so the more you buy..................

I bought some of the Nobel Tubal 2000 (I call it T2K) because it's description sounded like 4198. As it turns out it is EXACTLY like 4198 :-). It is extruded, but the kernals are smaller OD and shorter. Good, clean high quality stuff that was recently made. Too bad they're out of that!
