Bought my wife a S&W 3913 recently and am ready to reload for it. Have bunch of 100gr. lead bullets I cast for my .380 but they are measuring out at .359 to .360. My question is should I resize them to .356 or .357?
Haven't slugged the barrel so not sure exactly what it is yet.

i'd wait you may want 358.

Slug it. My bet is .357 or .358, but that is like me guessing your shoe size. Better to
measure it.

All my 9mm get sized to 358, but that is for MY 9mm. They are perfect.

.358 on all my nines. No leading.

Don't guess, slug the barrel. It will take less time to do than scraping out leading from undersized boolits. Ask me how I know this.....

Got to thinking. I'm planning on buying a kel-tec pf9 later but don't want to wait till then to buy my sizer. Don't want mulitple ones either for the same bullets.

I'll slug the S&W and see and hope the other is the same I guess. LOL!

My SIG P239 barrel slugs at .357". I've tried .356 and .357 and accuracy remains 2" at 20 yds. For same powder weight the .357 clocks about 15 fps more (I crimp +.001" larger for the .357"). No leading with either (both check 14 BHN with Saeco hardness tester) - pushing around 970 fps. I don't cast (lazy, I guess) but purchase cast bullets - would .358" be worth a try?

I would say in your situation .358 boolit would make a good bit of difference. You can order specific sizes from some cast boolit companies. If they offer the different sizes I would definently go .001 over.

I use my barrel to size my boolits, works great in the 9mm!!!! I also lube with 45/45/10.

Herb -

Try some .358, but if you have no leading and 2" groups you have gotten about all there
is to get from that pistol, IME. I see about 2" BEST case with my P225s with .358 Lee
356-124TC conventional lube groove at full power, @ 25 yds. Usually not quite that good,
more like 2.5-3".

I have a 3913 and size to .358. Little to no leading and 2 in at 20. These are just blaster/close range practice boolits I use the same Lee 356-124TC that MtGun44 uses.

Great boolit for a plinker/practice.
