Do you think the 358156 will carry enough lube for a 30" barrel?

Yes and no. Depends on the quality of the lube and the amount of shots you use to get the bore ready.

If you are talking on jumping in with a clean barrel, it will probably take quite a few.

might be interesting to try a lube cake under the 358156 and see how it behaves.

Wiljen--

I like that idea.

I figure I would first run a mop down the barrel a few times with some veggie oil on it.

Firearm is a pedersoli rolling block in 357 mag.

I would enjoy hearing more about the rifle itself ! :)

Do you have any photos?

I don't think you'll have a problem, I run the Lee 120 tc at 1200-1300 fps out of a 24" Rossi barrel with no problems. It has a very shallow lube groove and carries little lube. I use a mix of CRed and Magma (just to get rid of the sticky in CRed) and get no leading at all. Also depends on the lubrisizer. If using the Lyman type you've got two lube grooves anyhow as opposed to 1 with the Star. In the Lyman you could even add a 3rd using the bottom crimp groove.

I still haven't shot it. I just got some sample bullets together and some gas checks. I think I'll begin around 13.5, 14 gr of 2400. Another bullet that seems popular is Lee 158 RNFP. One more that was recommended is the RCBS 35-200 gr.
