I was able to fill my last deer tag yesterday using the 460350-RFGC group buy bullet from my 45-70. It was a doe weighing 110 lbs, about average for the adult does where I hunt. Load was 34.5 gr of H4198. Alloy was clip-on wheel weights metal plus 2% tin. Range was 75 yards and the deer was standing broadside facing left. Entry was through the left front leg but missed all the shoulder bones.

Entry into the rib cage shows some expansion and there was hematoma extending from brisket to the rear-most rib.

Also in this photo, lower right corner, you can see some of what remains of the dangling right side front leg. The exit was through the elbow joint on that side. While traversing the chest cavity, the bullet took off the top of the heart. Amazingly, the deer was able to travel about 30 yards before crashing. This is the second deer for this gun and load combination this season and I'm well pleased with the results.

Looks like it worked nicely for you. Any idea on the velocity?

I didn't chrono this but I'm guessing 1800fps or something close to that based on published data I've researched.

Looks like good eating to me nothing graphic about it.
Well I have to admit I have seen more graphic pictures of wounds, think military

That is good performance and meat in the freezer!

I have a 2 cav 330Gn Gould HP style mould coming, one Gas check, one plain base. I will be using that in my Trapdoor! I am expecting similar freezer filling results!
