Warmed up to freezing today, so went to the range. Hardly any wind, unusual for our range. Loaded some boolits BRP had sent me to try, some 200's and two versions of 250's.
Both loaded over 44gr of Accurate MRP (precursor to AA3100) and a WW LRM to 2.54" OAL. The 200's in the crimp groove. Also loaded some 338-200 RD's. The BRP boolits were at .342" and the RD's sized in a .340" die.
Everything shot @100yds. Not a real stout load. The BRP's sounded good, but a couple of the RD's sounded different (smaller boolit not sealing as well?).

Also shot a few of the 250's thru a Rem 700 in 338 win mag loaded over 31gr 4759 (way too light I think). Verticle dispersion as shown.

Thanks. I've got a 338 MX that I am going to start casting for eventually. I love the caliber and the rifle so far.

Did you luck out and get the good wood on yours before the plant closed?

Nothing like that wood on my gun. Wanna trade!!!:)

I have the 338XLR with the laminated stuff. Your wood looks so much better, what a stock should look like.

Thanks, yeah, they did me right. I'm proud of it.

So you went with the stainless and laminated furniture? I wouldn't have minded the stainless, plus yours has, two inches I think, on mine ... two inches longer?

Seems like a helluva caliber so far though. I just gotta get into casting boolits for mine. I just got my die set the other day and jeeeeeeeze .... components are expensive.

Always good when you can end on a good note
