Hey guys,
I poured my first boolits today. Lee 309-113's for my 30 carbine. I learned my Lyman ladle is worthless for these small boolits. I used a large kitchen spoon and it worked great. I had to cull a few back to the pot but most of them came out real good. Tumble lube and gas checks and they'll be ready for testing. I used Frankford flux. It was nasty and I thought it was going to eat a hole through my pot before I got done. I think I'll try candle wax next time.

Thats some pretty good casting.

Fluxing is little bit over rated. You do not have to flux anything but should flux at least at the end of the casting session. If the dross gets in your way , you could just move it aside till its too much then skim it off temporarily.
Just don't toss it out because it will be tin rich and if you make it a matter of habit to skim dross you will eventually lose a noteworthy amount of tin and have a ple of useless dross.

I had a big pile of dross i melted down after casting and wound up with a full lyman ingot of alloy. Nice work
