Are the two basicly the same? Was reading in my old version of COW that the 35 wcf. is formed from the 30/40 ? I couldnt find any real chamber drawings to compare the two but it looks like the 35 wcf just has a shorter neck similar to the 35 rem? I was looking at my old lyman die set for the 35 rem and the seater die has 35 rem/35 wcf written on it ? same neck and shoulder dimensions? Both look like they would make a dandy CB cartridge, maybe the 35 Krag better with the longer neck.

I think the 35 wcf is on the 405 win case so would be longer than something on the Krag case but have the same head.

The 35 wcf is longer than the Krag. I've done quite a bit of shooting with a couple 35 Krags we built. On a strong action it's quite a round, although I did mine on a Krag action. I like it for cast because it has more capacity than a 358 win and a long neck, easy to make and econonmical brass.....RU...I assume you're near Pittsburgh, I'm near State College. A few people were talking in chat the other night about a meeting for lunch at the NRA convention next year.

shooter93... I have been thinking about a 35 Krag, but have been unable to locate a source of reloading dies. Any ideas!

Perhaps a Lee Collet die for sizing and a .35 Remington die for seating? I don't know for a fact, just throwing it out.

Charger....most anyone can make the dies but I know Redding has them, and you don't need a separate forming die just a standard set. I paid for the first set they made years ago so the engineering is done so you wouldn't have to pay for that. They call it the 35-30/40 krag I believe but they will know what you want. I also had a reamer made from the dummy rounds I made. If you need a smith to chamber for you I can give you his name but you'd have to send it to him....he doesn't lend/rent reamers. When we started these rifles a number of years ago there was virtually little written about the round but it's gaining paopularity. I finally sent mine out to get checkered so it will soon be complete......finally...lol.

Been a Krag fan for a long time and been handloading for mine for almost as long. Is there any data for the .35 Krag with chamber pressure?

Not much pressure data out there. I started with 358 Win. loads backed down quite a bit. Someone with Quickload can get you close for pressures. I've been able to move 225-250 grain bullets in the 2100 fps range within pressures for a Krag usin a 22 inch barrel. I seated them longer than standard which is easily done in the magazine.

That's EXACTLY where I want to be; with modern powders a .30-40-220 can make 2100 safely. All's I want is to duplicate Krag ballistics with a .35.

Any pix of brass/ loaded cartridges? I finally found the Handloader article, and the .35 Krag there really resembles .303 Brit after being shot through a Ross rifle. I prefer a bit more neck than that.
