I was doing an small test cast with my new lee improved 45cal minie mold, trying to find out how hot I have to have it. casting along just using using ww lead just to learn how to use my first hollow base mold. dropping booltz. poured one, thought it took every bite of that was in my ladle, looked at the spur, there was an hole in it. opened the mold. it did not fill to the nose. dropped into the spur pile. decided to pull it out and weight it up. just wondering. 238gr.
so my thought where, I did not have enough lead in the ladle. I admit, I was tired. started thinking. it was an entrusting.
