Hi all - I'm about to start casting and my first mold will be the 200-gr. HP MiHec .452 currently in group buy. This will feed my two Springfield 1911s. Should I buy the push-through sizer also in .452"?

Many thanks.

I think you'd probably be happy with the .452"

That's where I'd start.

A few guns require a .451" to chamber smoothly.

Get a couple egg-type sinkers and slug your chamber and your bore. DO NOT use a wooden dowel. Use a Brass or taped (duct tape) steel rod to pound your slug through. Oil the bore first.

Measure this slug, measure the chamber slug, and determine what size you can chamber and what size you want. Then buy a sizer.

.452 \has worked well for me in many .45acp.

Knowing the facts of your gun, it would be customary to see what your mold throws with your alloy before getting a sizer. Lots here would help you spend your money. Well cast bullets often give great performance as cast and frequently a sizer is used for lubing only. BvT
