View Full Version : Ruger 77/22 to Hornet??

I have a Ruger 77/22 mag. Can this be converted to 22 Hornet? If so who will do it?

The action is probably the same, but the bolt is probably different and even if it isn't the face would be as the firing pin would be offset and no doubt a chisel type. 22LRs have a softer metal in the Bbl as there is not as much stress. This may be the case with the 22Mag as well.

You would save yourself a lot of grief by trading it in on a Hornet or selling it and putting the funds towards the centrefire.

Like my old Grandad used to say, some things sound good when you say them fast. I think this is one of those things, sorry.

The magazine well and magazine are both quite different - Much longer than rimfire. Not really feasable.

Why not look for a Ruger Model 77 in 22 hornet , I had one way back, laminated stock, etc

Ya, get that 77/22 Hornet then have Clark Custom trick it out.
