It's time for my November Midway order (okay, it's not november yet, but I don't wait until Christmas to open my presents either). I figured I might as well add a bullet mold on for my 30 Herrett. The Lee 113gr flat point looks cheap, and it's in stock. Anyone using this one for the Herrett or similar?

It is excellent. The soupcan is a great hunting boolit (have taken deer with it, woodchucks, dogs in the sheep, etc.) that shines on targets, too. Size it at least to .309, better yet .310. I have had good luck with ACWW, WDWW, Lino, and 1/2 & 1/2, now use just ACWW up to max velocities (which depends upon your barrel). It was the first .30cal mould I ever bought, long time ago. I shoot it in everything from .30carb to .30-06, bought a second soupcan mould just to have a spare. The Lee 150gr FN works great in the .30Herrett too, and is a better choice for deer sized game. I would start with RE7.

Soupcan is a good place to start and because it makes 2 at a time versus the Lee 150 slowpoke routine of 1 at a time. I did get the little 113 gr. FP soupcan to shoot with 21 gr. H-4198 and it really shot accurately. I use just 9 gr. Unique in my 30-30 Ackley with the 113 gr. for a real nice plinker. I use 8 gr in a regular 30-30 for about the same results. The little Lee 120 gr. RN is a real good one but not for tube magazines i would think. You never hear much about it but it is the best bullet next to the lyman 311359 pointed in my M-1 carbine.

Okay, everything I hear is positive, so I ordered it, a lee .309 sizer and some gas checks. Danged checks cost almost as much as the mold and sizer together. I need to try some Unique in the herrett, starting to get real impressed with that powder.

Also try H4227 & AA5744, they also work good for the 30Herrett.

So far this barrel has liked everything I've burned in it, 2400, IMR 4198 and 3031, and Blue Dot. It absolutely loves 110gr Speer HP's, couldn't find a load behind that bullet that wouldn't shoot. 125 seirra's are abit more difficult, but I still have several MOA loads with them. I'll have to add those 2 powders to my list to try.

F: I had a 30 Herrett at one time and fed it a steady diet of NEI 308-178-GC and 24 grains WW748.

This provided 200 ft/sec and sub-inch accuracy.

I also like the 150gr Lee FP in my 30 Herret.
That bullet over 17.8grs of H110 has provided some pretty decent groups.
