It depends, for low power Unique, for medium to higher velocity H4895. H4895 can be loaded as low as 60% of max for lower powered loads. I've gotten reliable functioning of my AR 15 using 18gr H4895 and the 55gr Bator with my mid-length AR 15.

Depending on cartridge (22H, .223, 22-250) and performance level (/22LR up through 2400-2500 fps) I use Bullseye, Unique, 4227, 4759, 5744, 4895 and AA4350.

I'm getting good results from 4198 in the .221 Fireball with the RCBS 55 gr boolit. Haven't done much other testing in .22 for many years.

For the 223 class of cartridge, 2400 and 4895 are good choices, for smaller capacity cases, I like lil'gun and H110, though 2400 has proven useful in the hornet as well, but case life suffers.

My .22 Hornet perfers 1680, but has done decently well with Unique, Herco, 2400, Lil'Gun and not so well with 4227.

My .223 has seen only 2400. I need to branch out, but have two many irons in the fire.

:coffeecomUnique or (am just workin on loads for it) Trail boss for lite loads. 2400 for 1600-1800, and either 4198 or 4895 for top end.
