J Bullet Stability question

Somewhere in my readings I came across or was told that when running stability programs on long BTHP bullets that the length should be figured on the OAL of the lead core and not the OAL of the bullet ??
If anyone has anything in print about this I sure would appricate knowing where you read it.

everything iv'e seen has dealt with the whole bullets length.
maybe the hollow point on some of those long bullets could be ignored back to where the lead is.
that'd make sense to me.
most of those formulas were written before the sleek stuff come along.
