Look under cast pics at the bottom of the page. Open the mold reference box on the left side. Look under Lyman molds.

308243 or 308234?

I'd bet the 351319 is just a 350319 for the Lyman #1 says is for the 35 Win self loading.

The 360302 is most likely the 358302 Himmelwright wadcutter.

321232 is a 32 Win Special plain base mold. 170 grn

451112 was a mold for the .45 sharps, came in different weights.

533476 is a 54 minie ball mold. 410 grn.

Can't find a reference for the 454319.

Moody,

Floodgate is our resident expert on ideal. I have his compilation of tables and will have a look in them. He may be here sooner than I can have a look. Or you can send him a PM. Also drop on over to the ARTCA forum and signup, the forum is now open to non members.

Send me a pm with email and I will get you some info on the Belding and Mull mould.

For reference the B&M moulds were suspended from production in 1953. There were various means of mould numbering through the range of production. In 1925 they started using the bullet size (first 3 numbers) followed by bullet wight (2 or 3 numbers), B&M and the type of material used for the mould. I.e. 311168 B&M Nickel is a 311 diameter 168 grain B&M Nickel mould block. Earlier moulds only have diameter and bullet weight, i.e. 311-168. some may have diameter-bullet weight-material, i.e. 311-168-Iron

There is a whole host of marking variations. There is a resident expert on the B&M moulds at ARTCA also, some of the above info cam form him and some came form items loaned to me by him.

How is that for clearing things up. Also they only have venting on blocks if it was found to be necessary when they were made.

Jeremy

an excellent reference for ideal /lyman moulds follows, this looks like the pictures that John D posted are similar at the following website.

http://www.three-peaks.net/bullet_molds.htm

Floodgate's work is very comprehensive and will relay the intro and discontinue date in the known literature.

Jim,

He frequents the place, but has kept a low key. He will answer PMs. You will likely find him on the ARTCA forum. I urge you to come over there also if you have not been there already, it has been a few days since I was over there.

The political overtones that sometimes get into the threads are a downer and it took quite a toll on some of us for a while, Floodgate opts to not get involved discussions. More of us should probably do the same, I know I feel a lot better when I stay out of those things.

Antique Reloading Tool Collector's Association, IIRC. Also known as "the competition" for those that like the old, discontinued, unavailable molds to USE.:kidding:
