I finally got the chance this year to get a whitetail in the scope................

We have a late antlerless season on private land, in selected areas, mine is one of these.

Not much of a story, came home from snowremoval this morning around 9:30.....went out back, We think the deer might have been in the little patch of soy beans out there. Something spooked them and this one was standing broadside looking around, I leaned on a pallet of bagged mulch and let one of the Saeco 640 bullets fly (410 bullet) ;)

My brother used his rangefinder when we walked back up and ranged it at 142 yards....I guess those 50 to 60 shots I took in the last few weeks with the Bison paid off.

oh yea, White .410 Bison, 60 grains swiss 3f

Bullet entered a bit high on the right side, went thru the lungs and clipped the top of the heart. DOT...deer went about 100 to 125 yards into the brush

Good kill. You may want to find a boolit with a wider meplate.

waksupi,

Thanks for the observation !
Something like these ?

The copper bottom on the right is a 50 % meplat, and the one on the left is 80 %, both come from custom molds for the White .410 caliber.

I prefer, if I can, to take a pass thru lung shot. They bleed out real nice ! My legs are still pretty young and I don't mind tracking. :-)
