This is the first and only group I've shot with Boolits at 100 yds. Mold was Lee 312155 water quenched, gas checked and sized .311. Charge was 16 gr of 2400. That one shot out of the group was not pulled, I just aimed a bit right. Gotta focus, darn it.

Rifle was a 1903 A3.

Then I shot offhand at 17 yards, three shots on paper.

The rifle was hitting well so I shot 12 ga shells. It hit them easily. So I changed to rifle brass (actually Wolf Steel) and it hit them too, unless I messed up.

There is a pile of 'brass' with bullet hits out there. The A3 Gits Some, no doubt. With the sling used military style it is extremely easy to shoot this rifle offhand. The cast boolit loads work great.

Well done, I hope my A3 shoots as well when I get it together..

The Lee .312"/185 has done some good work in a couple 30-06's of mine--both Win 70's, both with .311" throats and sized to that standard. I suspect the reason for its good work is the fit in both throat and atop the lands (a fat .301" in my castings).

GREAT offhand work!

Forgot the pic doesn't show it but the two groove barrel leaves rifling marks forward of the grooves all the way until the nose curve begins.

So, the Lee 312-155 is a bore rider or even a bit fatter.

I'll shoot some more groups at a hundred, but 2" is about the limit of my vision until I get some more powerful glasses.

Yesterday I cranked out 40 rounds in batches of 20 on the Dillon 550B. Boy, that thing is fast compared to my RCBS Jr!

I sure hope they shoot well at 200 yards.
