I have about 25#s of what I believe is lead wool. I think it was used to pound into a poured lead joint to fill it up. Does anybody know if there's anything except lead in it?

The guys at our local hardware store tell me it's pure lead. I was looking at some the other day.

I assume it's pure. I got several pounds of it from a plumber friend some years back after he finished a repair job in a cast iron system. I still have a few small ingots and made MaxiBalls out of the rest that I have been shooting ever since.

Does it look like this?

If so it is nearly pure lead.

Was it on this board or somewhere else that I read that you could tamp it into your chamber and get a good chamber slug using it? I priced it at the local plumbing wholesaler and a box of it was around $25:00, too expensive to do a few chamber slugs. I'd like to find a little to try it out though.
