Anyone ever thought about giving a 2nd or 3rd model Dragoon the "1860" treatment?
1) Custom rebated cylinder
2) Mill out front of frame to fit cylinder
3) Re-bore cylinder and barrel to largest practical size - could we reach .490 or .530 ball dia?
4) Twiddle with rammer to make it line up - or use external loading tool.
I do not have the skills to make this happen, but I thought I would throw it out there for any 'smiths to play with if they found time on their hands. :grin:
