I loaded some rounds last night, lee 240 tl and put it over some trail boss, shot those today and that was fun to shoot.

Made my 44 mag kick like a 22 mag. On the better side, 49 rounds fired perfectly, down side 49 hit the target but not were I was aiming-sights are off, and no leading and the gun is pretty clean.

Oh I cant wait to pump out some 500 mag with Trail Boss to see what that does.

Shot a number of rounds of 45-70 the other day with 14 gr. of Trail Boss under that ugly looking 350 lee. Shoots like a house afire at 25 yds. Think I will load some more of them this afternoon as it is close to zero here, with windchills that would make a brass monkey shrink.

I've been loading trail boss in my 44s for a long time. My favorite cowboy load is under a 200 grain cast bullet at modest velocity. Great for knocking over steel plates and little recoil. I haven't put it on paper recently but would guess groups to be quite respectable since I have no problem at all hitting the plates if I do my part.

I love Trail Boss. I use it to tame down my Milsurps, 7.62x54r, 7.5x55 Swiss and even my Mauser. I shoot these for fun so why beat myself up.

not the best, not bad for how i was shooting that day. at 30 ft, kept 6 shots on the head of that target. probly a good 6" circle or so. not bench rest shooting.

i know the sighte were off cause i was aiming at the center of the target and 24 rounds were up and left from were i was aiming. at 25 feet, hand size group. put a nice big hole in it.

ill see if i can get a good picture and post it later.

Keep in Mind I am no expert but it seems to me you might just need to fine tune your load a little and then when they are grouping as tight as you want adjust your sights. If you bullet is going slower than your regular loads then they are going to be off I would think.

I tend to use small targets 12"x12" or 6" or 8" shoot-n-c for most of my shooting be it 20ft or 75' so I can never pin point exactly were im hitting. I'll hit it, just hard to fully judge. This range I went to I got to use some bigger targets and I could pin point it. And the recoil didn't beat me up with it so it was easier to watch.

The normal powder I have been using is Tight Group.

I was taken their once when I first moved here in August. It is a nice set up and the fee's were pretty reasonable. Something like $3 per hour I think.

They moved into their new facility in october, you should check it out. I think its just down the road about another mile from the old range.
