I have
One mold for 45 auto Lee .452 230 grain T/C two cavity

One mold for 44 mag Lee .430 240 grain SWC two cavity

Lee 20# bottom pour pot

Lyman ladle

One Lee .452 die for regular press and the same die for the .430

Lyman's new Lead casting book.

Bucket full of wheel waits

Turkey fryer.

About 1/2 the bucket has been converted to Lead muffins.

Am I missing any thing or do have what I need to get started?

No flip flops. Burns on feet hurt really bad, and can become infected easily. You might want a little 1/8lb hammer, plastic or brass head, it helps in handling your molds. For knocking the sprue plate open, and if you smack the pivot bolt, (not the mold) it will knock the bullets loose from the mold. Go youtubing for a bit, there is a lot to be learned there.

Are you air cooling, or water cooling your bullets?
Are you pan lubing or tumble lubing?

I thought you would get a kick out of it:-P

I will be tumble loobing and probably air cooling, these will just be plinking loads.

Oh thanks for the hammer tip I will see what I can do to find one. I am sure I would have thought of it, while I was holding a hot mold trying to figure out how to open it.

I wouldn't start without BULL SHOP "Sprue Plate Lube" to make casting a breeze,to prevent lead smears/specks and galling.
You can use High Temp Anti Seize paste temporarily until you get some SPL especially on your sprue plate screw to keep it from galling. Steal or Aluminum molds. Keep it/ and all things out of the mold cavities.
Just one of those things to save you a couple headaches.

:holysheep Thanks, I will try that. I had not thought about it but you are 100% right. Steel and aluminum don't do well together heating up and cooling down without some chemical or physical help.

I am going out of town for the weekend so feel free to leave any advise you can think of, even if it sounds obvious. And I will check back on Monday.

Forget the hammer, just get an old hammer handle or similar hardwood stick. That's all you need to smack the bolt.

That .444 model 94 should work very well with cast. A different mold and some gas checks would be recommended, slug the throat for the right sizing die, search for loading data on here. Ranch
Dog really likes the .444 for hunting hogs.
You could also see if Cafe Press still has any of the official Cast Boolits casting thongs...

Yes I will be slugging the bore soon enough and getting a gas check mold for it as well so I can push the snot out of them.
