New to this forum; lots of knowledge floating around out there. I am lookin for a 200+ grain bullet to use in a NEF .357 single shot rifle converted to .356win. Mfg says barrel is 18.75" twist. Several posts comment on RCBS 220g and Lyman 190g for barrels with 1:14 and 1:16, but how about the slower twists.

There are several other 35 caliber nuts (afficionados) on the forum who have converted their NEF 357 single-shots to other calibers. Most I know of have converted them to 357 Max or 35-30 Win or 35 Rem so 356 Win is a new one on me as well.

I'm just jumping into the 35 caliber game as well so it would be interesting on the weight selection for the slower twist as well.

I'd be inclined to try the the RCBS 35-200.

I have shot 200gr LBT's in my grandsons Handi Rifle .357 and it shoots very well.
The biggest problem Is the fact that it has a real long throat and to get it to shoot the best i have to seat the bullet out to a longer COL.

Thanks for the input on the 200g. I'll try em.

Mine shoots the RCBS 200 and Ranch Dog 190 very well. 18.75" twist would work fine up to 230gr, maybe 240 gr. with cast bullets.
