Colt New Frontier .22/.22mag How Old?

Hi Guys; Hoping someone out there can help me. I am trying to find the age and value on a Colt New Frontier in .22/ .22 magnum. It has adjustable sights and has the additional .22 mag cylinder.Is there a web site somewhere I can go? Tried typing it in on Google but all I got was another search engine. I have had this pistol for almost 30 years and they were discontinued in the 70's. The serial number is G144xxx if that helps. It is in Very good condition with minor marks from handling and usage. Any help or history would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like between $500.00 and $650.00 or so unless you have something special.

I had one of the .22 Peacemakers with a 7.5" bbl. in the late 70s. They were nice guns, and I still have a gun magazine from the early 70s with the introductory artical, (yeah, I never throw gun magazines away).

Thanks for the website info guys. Nearest I can tell is that mine was made probably mid 70's. I agree with you Shotman. I think they are undervalued. I had a Ruger Single-Six before the Colt and the Colt is twice the gun.

Better than the Ruger Single six in my opinion but seen a couple at the last gun show sitting on tables with the owners asking $550-$600 and they didnt sell.
I owned one years ago and it was pretty accurate with .22's but not so much with the mags.

used to shoot the 22 mag at 130 yards above a swamp and smack muskrats swimming along. Very fun gun

I've had two of these Colts. They are a lot more gun than a Single-Six, and feel that way in the hand. My current one REALLY shoots well, and with both cylinders/calibers.

Well I have to disagree. I bought a Peacemaker in about 1973. Prettiest and best feeling SA I've ever owned but the thing won't shoot worth a dang! I have a ruger Single Six that shoots like crazy( as in very well).

I recently bought a Colt New Frontier, .22Lr only, (back in Sept) for $225. It is all blue, 7 1/2" bbl, and has the "safety" built into the loading gate area. No holster wear and hardly no "ring" on the cylinder.

I have a Colt Frontier 62, that was made I believe, before the New Frontier came out. I've carried this one for more then 50 years, and it still shoots and hits what I'm aiming at as well as it did when I bought it. I had both 22 & 22 mag cylinders with it, but loaned the mag cylinder to a friend over 30 years ago who had a colt just like mine, but didn't have the mag cylinder for it, and never got it back.
I would like to find a mag cylinder to replace it, that I didn't have to sell the farm to get.
I've had a lot of 22's and still have a bunch of them, but none of them match up to the Colt. It's still my go to 22 handgun.

bought my for $100 at a Bait and tackle shop on the oregon coast in the late 1980's...shoots very well with standard 22 LR but not as accurate with the 22mag....still fun to shoot,,,
