HI,
As I have recieved several questions from different members about the 7MM/06 WILDCAT, I thought that a list of threads I know of might help.

1) 7mm & cast bullets.
2)Need help W/ loads for 06 based case.
3) case length shortening myth or reality.

There may be some on the old site as well.

The 7mm/06 was the wildcat predecessor to the 280 rem/7MM Express which has a slightly longer case.

270,280 rem cases need to be trimmed before loading to fire forming. 30/06 just need to be necked down & fire formed.
More later when I have more time .:Fire::Fire:

Boom Boom,

When I get a chance I wil try to add some additonal info also.

One thing to mention is the use of Hornady new dimension neck sizer and bullet seating die usage for the Ackley version. They are much cheaper than dedicated dies and work well.

I have found that 51 to 55 grains of IMR 7828 is a good load for me using Sierra 168 gr Match king jacketed bullets.

We should have one more 7mm-06 shooter soon, and likely one of those requesting info from you, as I just sent a box of 40 standard 7mm-06 cases using LC mil brass as the parent case. That is if the box ever gets to him, I sent it last week.

Here is the link tot he 7mm and cast thread

HI,
OK,I CONSIDER ANY LOAD OF ABOUT 1,100- 1,500'/S AS A SQUIB LOAD.
These are great short range practice loads, as well as for fire forming brass to your chamber. I have squirrel & rabbet hunted with these small game loads. They are about equivalent to 357 mag. loads in energy, but flatter & penetrate more.

SO NOW TO MID-RANGE LOADS OF ABOUT 1,600- 2,200'/S.
ONCE AGAIN W/ THE 168GR. GC. CAST BULLET.
IMR 4198 20-25GRS,
IMR 4895 31-45GRS.
H-4831 40-50GRS.
IMR 4831 40-45 GRS.
IMR 4064 34-35GRS
HIVEL 2 31-33GRS.
H-BL-C 28-36GRS.
H 380 35-42GRS.
H 450 40-50 GRS.
NOTE I WOULD USE A DACRON FILLER W/ ANY LOAD OF LESS THAN 80% CASE CAPACITY TO AVOID ANY S.E.E. DETONATIONS.:Fire::Fire:
These loads would be more like a 44mag. in energy level.

HI,
I consider loads above 2,200'/s getting into full power range.
WC 860 48-54GRS. is safe in my gun, & it feels almost like shooting a 145gr. j bullet.
but I have no way to tell the real velocity.

IF ANYONE HAS MORE DATA PLEASE POST IT HERE.
ESPECIALLY ON THE FULL POWER LOADS.

I am hoping to get around to experimenting with IMR 4350, IF I get a chance.
